2011: A Preview

3 January 2011

I know most people usually do year in review posts around this time. However, I might get to that at a later time. For me, life is always been about looking forward and all the new things in store. So instead of a review, you get a preview, at this exciting year to come (apparently before the world comes to an end in 2012).

I usually don’t make resolutions, but this year I felt like I needed to set some general goals to get me back in gear after a chaotic last year. I started a lot of great things last year, fun projects and new ideas that never really got off the ground between moving jobs and cities. This year, I hope to restart some of those ideas and get things done this time around!

Some of the more “technical” goals I would like to achieve involve you peoples and the internets. Just like last year, I am going to get back to vlogging more often (and possible pleads for places to visit). As much work as it is to vlog, it was always fun and I got a lot of positive feedback from the experience.

Secondly, this blog is going to be updated A LOT more often. I cook meals for scratch every week, go on so many adventures, and have many stories to tell, I have no excuse for only updating this every few weeks.

Finally, I want to get back to my passions. I have always had a photographer at heart, and it is one of the few hobbies that has never has turned into a real “job”. Sadly, that means my camera has almost fallen to the wayside, proved by the fact that my SLR’s battery was dead simply from sitting in the camera too long. I hope to take “more” (I know vague) photographs this year and do much more with them (enter more shows, etc.).

I know these goals seem like little things, but with adventures filling every free moment of my life it seems, I have to start somewhere. It will also be hampered by the fact that starting in a short two weeks I am once again going to be returning to uni to complete my Master’s degree. I am as excited as I am worried about becoming a student again while working full time. Being a student was not always my strong suit.

Also, on the travel front, 2011 is already becoming a busy year of places to visit. The docket so far already has Boston, Chicago, SF (twice), Los Angeles, San Diego, and two road trips on it. And I am sure I will be adding more as the year progresses.

So with that – Happy New Year everyone! Please help me with my goals for this year where you can (and my homework if all possible).

ps. Sorry for the old photo, as I said… my camera battery was dead.
